Tykes/Timbits Hockey Ages 4, 5 and 6

The Orangeville Girls Hockey Association is proud to work with Tim Hortons in our Tyke Hockey Program.We both strongly believe in the philosophy of TimBits Hockey: "The First Goal is Having Fun"

The objective of the Association is to ensure that all first year players enjoy their time on the ice and look forward to their second season of hockey. This objective can only be achieved if we ensure that all of our beginners have a good first impression and each subsequent season is a great experience.

House League and Development

In addition to our strong Tyke program, we offer House League programs for the following six age categories:

Novice . . . . . . .Ages 7 and 8

Atom . . . . . . . .Ages 9 and 10

PeeWee . . . . . .Ages 11 and 12

Bantam . . . . . .Ages 13 and 14

Midget/Int . . . .Ages 15-19

Senior . . . . . . .Ages 20+

Each of our House League teams, excluding Senior, play one game per week with a regularly scheduled practice every other week. The duration of the season is 20 weeks. The focus of this program continues to be fun and development.

To assist in the growth of both the House League and Representative League our Director of Player Development is continually adopting new initiatives to benefit our players. Some of these initiatives are:

- Mentoring programs for Tykes by our Representative teams

- Regularly scheduled skills clinics promoting hockey fundamentals

- Innovative and state of the art techniques and curriculum, including the use of parachutes for resistance training

- Partnerships with local facilities for training, including skating treadmill.

- Goalie development for all age categories.
